| An employment agency wished to improve its ability to deal with prospective candidates from a wide range of cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds. As the agency has a diverse group of employees itself, the Amicas facilitator began by identifying patterns already affecting behaviours in the workplace. The facilitator elicited individual employees metaphors for working with people like me and for working with those unlike me. There was a significant rise in the appreciation of diversity, improved integration and an enhanced quality of interactions between those of different backgrounds. This increased awareness and capability transferred also into much more effective communications with clients who were not like them. |
