| A team of three had some difficulties
in functioning due to some very different operating styles, which had gone
unacknowledged and unrespected. One member was very independent, whereas
the other two were very focused on others. One of these held a strong belief
that she knew what everyone else thought, causing resentments from the others.
She also had no understanding that others were not like her! Our facilitator undertook a team building exercise with the team, eliciting metaphors for how they each worked at their best, and a common metaphor for how they would like the team to operate. The team developed strategies for communicating which are more positive and avoid triggering previous irritations. They are now working together far more effectively. |
