| Improving performance through
longer-term focus A manager was feeling bored and de-motivated in her job, and as a result her performance was suffering. Following coaching with Amicas, she clarified the kind of work that did attract her, and the type of position to which she aspired. With a longer-term focus she could identify what she needed to do to achieve her goals. The impact of this was to substantially increase her performance in the role that she currently held. Within four months, the manager was meeting and exceeding the regular monthly targets measured by her employer in her current position. She was delegating more to her staff, and encouraging them to find their own solutions to problems rather than forming an over-reliance on her.
