Managing upwards

A senior manager was finding it difficult to deal with a hypercritical CEO. This was having an impact on his confidence and performance. When coached by Amicas, he developed a more useful understanding of the CEO's motivation in behaving in this way. Further, he was able to identify allies inside and outside the organisation who could help him to influence the CEO. And he also discovered ways to change his own behaviour so that he didn't trigger unhelpful criticisms from the CEO. A much more comfortable and productive relationship was developed.
