An organisation identified that its business planning process was poor, with no forum where key personnel could contribute or staff buy-in to the plan. It commissioned Amicas to redesign this process to ensure that managers and staff could fully understand the organisation’s goals, and as a result, cascade these into team and individual goals.

Amicas brought together a cross-section of key players and facilitated the development of the organisation’s goals, from the perspective of key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, staff and managers.

As a result, a much more informed business plan was produced. Managers were trained to coach staff to develop and review objectives that reflected the organisation’s goals. Amicas then facilitated the adaptation of the organisation’s appraisal system to ensure the plan was delivered. Managers were better able to delegate more effectively to staff who were well informed about the goals of the business, understood their contribution to business performance, and were well coached to deliver a high quality service.
