A recruitment consultant was trained by our facilitator to elicit metaphors. Now, as well as checking out candidates’ qualifications, experience, characteristics and personality traits, he also works with them to uncover their metaphor for their ideal position. He undertakes a similar exercise with his corporate clients for each vacancy, and then only puts forward candidates where there is a fit between the metaphors. As a result, he places people quickly and effectively and has very satisfied clients.
